Experience in budget development and management, staff supervision, and promotion of the office are also expected. Candidates must possess good oral written, and cross-cultural communications skills and an ability to negotiate and resolve complex problems in a timely manner. Exemplary planning and organizational skills are required.

Job Title Associate Director for Student Success
Duties & Responsibilities The University of North Carolina at Charlotte seeks an Associate Director for Student Success in the University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE). This is a full-time, 12 month position. The Associate Director for Student Success leads programs within the University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE) focused on the success and retention of academically at­risk students. This includes the 49er Rebound program, UCOL 1300 Academic Success Seminar course support and faculty development, Students Obtaining Success (SOS) peer mentoring, and the 49er Focus educational workshop series. The Associate Director focuses on developing strategies to help at­risk students learn skills and strategies to succeed in courses, attain academic success, and progress to graduation. The Associate Director is a member of the Senior Staff of the UCAE, providing leadership to the development, administration, evaluation, and research activities related to students’ success; additionally, the Associate Director participates in university, division, and departmental committees and activities. Requirements Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or related discipline from an accredited university required. Minimum of five years of experience in higher education or relevant field required. Experience with program development, administration, and evaluation required. Experience working with at-risk students and with academic support and retention programs strongly preferred. Supervision and training experience required. Strong analysis and oral and written communication skills are essential.
